Koi fish symbolize perseverance, strength, and good fortune, deeply rooted in Asian culture and ancient folklore.
Koi Swimming upstream: An ancient legend tells of a large school of koi swimming up the Yellow River in China.
The waterfall: The fish faced a fierce waterfall at the Dragon Gate. Many turned back because the current was too strong.
Transformation: One stubborn koi kept trying for a hundred years. It finally reached the top of the falls. The gods rewarded its determination by turning it into a dragon.
When I first heard this story, it really inspired me to create this piece.
